It was early in the evening on Monday, June 10th, that the €1,100 Main Event of the WPT Prime festival concluded at the Casino de Sanremo. And the first place went to an Italian player, Priamo Carta. For his first major live performance, Carta pocketed €124,700, including a $10,400 ticket to the WPT World Championship Wynn Las Vegas, after besting a field of 781 entrants.
He defeated Romanian Traian Stanciu in heads-up (€77,000), while Belarusian Uladzimir Luchkou took third place (€57,000). On the podium last year, Giuseppe Zarbo settled for fourth place this time, earning €43,000.
