The WPT World Championship returns to Wynn Las Vegas

For the third time in its history, the World Poker Tour will host a WPT World Championship festival from December 3 to 23 at the Wynn Las Vegas, with a highly anticipated Main Event featuring a $10,400 buy-in. After the $15 million guaranteed in 2022 and the $40 million guaranteed in 2023, the American franchise has not announced any staggering guarantees this time, as last year's 3,835 entrants led to a slight overlay despite a first-place prize of over $5 million.

There is no doubt that the event, scheduled from December 14 to 21, will still attract a large crowd of players, including those who qualified through Texapoker via this year's WPT Prime events. Ukrainian Yakiv Syzghanov (winner of the WPT Prime Aix-en-Provence) and Italian Priamo Carta (winner of the WPT Prime Sanremo) will be making the trip, as well as the future winner of the WPT Prime Paris.

Kicking off the festival, the $1,100 WPT Prime Championship will guarantee $5 million (December 8-14), followed by a $5 million guaranteed ClubWPT Gold Invitational Freeroll (December 13-15), a $1,100 Ladies Championship ($250,000 guaranteed, December 14-15), and a $1,100 Seniors Championship for players over 50 ($500,000 guaranteed, December 18-19).

“Our return to Wynn Las Vegas in December comes with another monumental investment in the development and growth of not only the WPT World Championship, but also the poker industry as a whole,” said WPT CEO Adam Pliska. “To celebrate the launch of ClubWPT Gold, we aim for another first in the poker world with the largest freeroll ever offered.” In addition to making its winner a millionaire, this Freeroll will allow 100 players to enter the $10,400 WPT World Championship, which will take place immediately after, from December 14 to 21.
